WHAT WE DO:
We create compelling and memorable identity systems, icons, marketing collateral, merchandise, websites and sometimes interiors. Secolo’s innovative solutions include work for brand savvy companies in professional services, corporate/commercial, public sector and non-profits (see Client list).
TONY SECOLO, CREATIVE DIRECTOR | BIO:
Secolo’s identity system for OFFICE PDX landed him in none other than HOW Magazine, for First Place for Logo Design or "Outstanding Identity" -- beating out approximately 5,000 international competitors. In December 2008, HOW continued to be inspired by OFFICE PDX and featured a 6 page article on Secolo’s recent design work, as well as Secolo and Coller’s innovative approach on retail and graphic design. Secolo’s graphic design work, branding for OFFICE PDX, and the couple’s unique take on business, products and/or events have been recommended, featured, blogged, or applauded by a variety of prestigious online and print magazines, including The New York Times (see Press section for more details).
Prior to OFFICE PDX Secolo spent several years in Seattle, WA as a lead designer for Getty Images, where he was responsible for creating strategic concepts and graphic design solutions for print, packaging, publications and online campaigns. Prior to joining Getty, Secolo was a designer for a boutique design agency and then switched to work for a government agency to help them launch several key initiatives -- so he uniquely understands both time and budget constraints and the importance of brand consistency across all mediums. He is a graduate of the prestigious Cornish College of the Arts.
ABILITY TO BUILD + EXPAND TEAMS, IF REQUIRED:
Because OFFICE PDX is in the unique position of being a design store and a design studio -- we hold a leadership position with cultural creatives, and therefore have an unbelievable network and access to a wide range of additional resources. Our connectivity allows us to quickly and easily build out a team that can expand or contract as necessary.
PHILOSOPHY:
Design Solutions Must:
1. Embody both Form (style) And Function (meet business goals)
2. Be Affordable (both in terms of design and production)
3. Be created in an ego-free process
