Ideas To Recover The Old Wingback Dining Chair

If you manage an old wingback dining chair and love everything except the tissue, you can retrieve it and make it look just wonderful! Recovering an armchair from your ears may seem difficult, but with these step-by-step instructions, you can start enjoying your chair again in no time!

The first step is to remove the existing fabric from the chair. Turn the chair, and you should see a series of staples that hold the fabric to the chair. Take a flat head screwdriver and pull the staples out, releasing the fabric from the bottom of the chair. After you have decided on the purchase and your new choice of fabric, stretch the fabric on a flat surface. Now fix the old parts to the new fabric with the right inside. Next, sew the front of the wing to the front of the chair back with the right sides together. Do the same with the back parts of the chair and wings.

Now, with the right inside, sew the inside and outside of each arm of the chair together and then slide into place on each arm of the chair. Place a piece of fabric to the front bottom of the chair by stapling both the inside of the seat and under the front of the chair. Now, with the right sides together, sew the front and back of the seat cushion together, leaving the back open. Turn the fabric on the right side and insert the cushion.
